Mass Effect 1, 2 and KOTOR writer is working on Anthem, Bioware's new IP

Bioware's brand new IP was finally unveiled at the EA Play event, titled Anthem, with gameplay footage following at Microsoft's E3 presentation. The upcoming action RPG is said to be similar to Destiny, with it being offered as a 'live service'.

Bioware fans may know of Drew Karpyshyn, the lead writer of the first two Mass Effect incarnations of the original trilogy, who also served as a senior writer for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Today, when asked by a Twitter follower if he was working on the newly unveiled Anthem, Karpyshyn confirmed that he indeed is working on the game.

The news may come as a pleasant surprise for fans of Karpyshyn's work, as the first two Mass Effect games are routinely named by fans as the best games of the series to come out.

Anthem will feature a vast, open and unforgiving world to explore, with players equipped with powerful and fully customizable exo-suits named Javelins. The full gameplay trailer from Microsoft's E3 presentation is seen above.

The game does not have a definite release date attached to it yet, with Bioware only saying it will arrive in Fall 2018 for the PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
