Mass Effect 3 Extended Cut available now

Were you disappointed by the ending of Mass Effect 3? Well considering the community outcry that caused BioWare to make this DLC pack, you probably are. Anyway, you can now download the Extended Cut DLC that aims to expand on the endings of ME3 and hopefully give more information, more insight and more closure into the fate of Commander Shepard.

Here's what BioWare has to say about the DLC:

The Extended Cut expands on the endings of Mass Effect 3 through additional scenes and epilogue sequences. It provides more of the answers and closure that players have been asking for. It gives a sense of what the future holds as a result of the decisions made throughout the series. And it shows greater detail in the successes or failures based on how players achieved their endings.

The download comes in at roughly 1.9 GB and is now available to download through EA's Origin service on the PC; it's also available on Xbox 360 and PS3 (except in Europe) right now.

If you have tried the DLC already, we'd love to hear your thoughts on whether it improved the ending to the series in the comments below. However, please keep the spoilers to a minimum unless you prefix with "SPOILER" or something along those lines. Check back later and we might have a staff opinion post up as well.

@Reacon it may take time to get, contract, etc the voice cast for additional work after there work was done.

(Edit) They changed all 3 ending and well this may tick some people that were ok with the current ending so will say they went too far in the opposite direction.

They kinda opened a door for a #4..

Kinda? I'm pretty sure they added a 4th ending since it's pretty obvious what happens in that one doesn't happen in any of the other ones

Besides the 4th ending option... a possible Mass Effects 4, depending on which ending you base it off of. I don't want to say more due to possible spoilers.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they are going to do a Mass Effect 4 (and 5 and 6 probably), even without these changes they've added now. But it seems even more likely apparently, if you get the 4th ending and stay for the after the credits scene (note, I haven't seen that ending, nor any of the endings yet lol).

They're going to do a prequel based in the Prothean era and their struggles against the reapers of their cycle. It'll be called Mass Cause.

It provides closure but adds literally nothing more. Maybe an extra 5 minutes~ of monologue at every ending. Just watch it on Youtube - not worth playing the game again for like I was expecting from something that took months to come out.
