Massive Samsung Galaxy Note on sale Feb. 19 at AT&T

In November, Neowin reviewed the Samsung Galaxy Note, which could either be called a small tablet or a huge smartphone, thanks to its 5.3 inch touch screen. At the time the smartphone wasn't being sold here in the US. Now AT&T has confirmed it will be selling the Samsung Galaxy Note starting on February 19. The price of the Galaxy Note will be $299.99 with a new two year contract.

AT&T has added that pre-orders for the Galaxy Note will begin on February 5 at AT&T's web site. If you decided to go all in and put your money down early for this smartphone by February 15, AT&T will ship the Galaxy Note to you on February 17, two days before the smartphone officially goes on sale at AT&T's retail stores.

The AT&T version of the smartphone will support the company's small but growing LTE wireless network. It will come with an S Pen stylus for people who want to write notes or sketch on the Galaxy Note's touch screen. It will also contain an app called the S Memo that "... lets you compile your pictures, screen shots, voice recordings, typed text, handwritten notes or drawings – and turns them into a ‘memo’ that can easily be shared."

The Galaxy Note will be made available in two different colors from AT&T: carbon blue and ceramic white.

this thing is massive lol i got to mess with a demo today ... its pretty but TOO big imho ... and at 299.99 for an upgrade . its a pass for me

It's to the point where phones are getting too big. A phone with a screen bigger than 4" is super uncomfortable to carry even in loose pants. Haha, and yeah you'd look like an idiot talking on this brick. I don't see any need to bridge the gap between phones and tablets, but eh, maybe some people will like it.

People are all about digital media and the likes now a days ... so if you can have a bigger screen for watching Netflix while you're on the go... why not!?

They've been available for quite a while now in Europe, and I've seen two or three people with it at the train station. You look like an idiot when using it like a phone. It's simply too big, it almost covers up your face completely while calling.

A guy was using one the other day in the tram, just about everyone around him started to chuckle when they saw that enormous monster of a phone.

The product has one of the most retarded slogans too: "Phone? Tablet? Feel free, it's Galaxy Note!" - Apparently not even Samsung knows what to make of it.

Gee Android gets a stylus....

What's wrong with a stylus? Kind of need it for anything requiring a bit of precision like handwriting, etc. Doesn't come out so well with a finger.

Implementation.

Does this thing have a digitizer or is this Stylus just another capacitive touchpoint requiring you to hold your hand away from the surface while writing.

W8 series will be much better with Stylus, as they have been doing it for over a decade.

Alternatively, you can give them an arm, a leg and your first born child and call it quites. Holy cow that's expensive.

The GN does look nice though. Tried one out over here in the UK at the weekend, and I'd love to have one, they're just so expensive.
