Almost 11 years after the release of the original Max Payne, its second sequel, Max Payne 3, is now available for pre-order on Steam, almost seven weeks in advance of its official release on May 29, 2012.
The game costs $59.99 to pre-purchase, and will come with a collection of downloadable content for those who buy before launch, as has become standard with many modern major releases. A list of pre-order DLC is below, though readers should note that the pre-order DLC offer might vary depending on what country you're in.
Classic Multiplayer Character Pack
Contains eight playable multiplayer characters for Max Payne 3 Multiplayer, including fan favorites from the original Max Payne and Max Payne 2 like Max Payne from Max Payne 2, Mona Sax and Vladimir Lem.
Disorderly Conduct Multiplayer Weapons Pack
Includes the Hammerhead Auto Shotgun, G9 Grenade Launcher and Molotov cocktail for Max Payne 3 Multiplayer.
Pill Bottle Item
This loadout item provides you with the capacity to carry extra painkillers - helping you survive longer amidst the killing fields of online multiplayer.
Max Payne Retro Avatar
Customize your multiplayer avatar with this Classic Max Payne Character inspired by the original Max Payne.
As you can see, all the bonus DLC is for Max Payne 3's multiplayer mode only. However, those who pre-order Max Payne 3 on Steam will also receive the original Max Payne and Max Payne 2 on Steam!
