Media needs a reality check?

Thanks Jon who spotted this before it was removed (but not deleted) from view at the site Boston.com.

This extraordinary article seemed to cover a very different chain of events and could well of been true to the word had Colombia's true and very tragic fate not been met early Saturday morning on the first of February 2003. The article was completed a full hour before the actual descent into Earths atmosphere and well, you know the rest.

The article is still available here. Also available in full here on read more.

Yesterday a group also decided to hack NASA website with political statements about the US stance on Iraq and reports early this morning showed the word "Colombia" one of the most searched words on the trader website eBay. Some auctions were removed after people had the macabre sense to start offering debris (from the Shuttle) for a price via the online auction. While tragedies like this usually bring people together others have a twisted way of dealing with it.
