Microsoft and Dell team up for new IE TV commercial

Microsoft has been promoting the use of Internet Explorer 9 through a new TV commercial campaign that first launched in March. Now Microsoft has announced it has teamed up with PC maker Dell to offer yet another commercial that tries to show the features of IE 9. The commercial began airing on US TV networks on Sunday.

The ad shows a family using IE 9 on their touch screen enabled Dell all-in-one PC to play games, along with viewing pictures and more. There's also a URL in the commercial that takes people to a page on Dell's website that promotes using Internet Explorer even more.

It's clear that Microsoft sees a need to have people use IE on their PCs as other competitors, include Google's Chrome and Mozilla's Firefox, have taken some market share away from IE over the past few years. However, Microsoft has also been promoting the fact that users of Windows 7 have been using IE 9 more and more in both the US and the world.

With the launch of Windows 8, and Internet Explorer 10, now just months away, it will be interesting to see how Microsoft continues to promote and market IE to the world in the near future.

that skydrive definitely looks different (better) than mine!
nice commercial, hopefully they continue to partner with hardware makers on these commercials

When I click on a link it comes up fast. I see no reason to browse around for other browsers other than freedom of choice, and there is nothing wrong with that. Only problem with that commercial is that touch on Windows is and has always been a big fat joke until Win 8 gets here with smooth pinch to zoom in stead of embarrassing jerky pinch to zoom and a finger friendly interface.

IE 10 will be in 7. I hate IE because it is slow as hell compared to Chrome and IE9's UI is kind of Meh.

Trolls and fan boys--STFU. This is purly my opinion. I find myself having to type this alot...I wonder why...

The problem with IE and the reason why people hate IE is because MS screwed it by not releasing IE7 for 5 years and IE8 development was slow. IE9 and 10 seems to come out good but MS need to force update all IE7,IE8 and IE9 to IE10 when it comes out and make auto update a default option.

They were comfortable at one point but now FF and Chrome made them change. but it defintly will come with a price.

I think MS's screw up will do nothing but help them in the end... their fall has turned into a fight to make a good browser and took the monopoly status off of IE with all the competition now

Thats true and it has made Chrome and FF competitive as well.

From what I remember, IE 10 won't be coming to 7, so they've already ****ed it up.

IE 10 is coming to 7. In fact, they have never said it's not.

I'm quite sure they've said before IE10 will be supported on Windows 7. Would be really stupid if not.

My bad, the next direct x isn't coming to 7 .
But still, no IE10 for vista? What a load of rubbish. So once again there's STILL loads of hacks that need to be done on sites to support older version of IE quite literally just because MS can't be arsed to release it for older OS's.
Might just give up supporting IE altogether, they're not gonna start giving newer IE's to older OS's anytime soon.
