Microsoft goes international with the Band, coming to the UK in April

When Microsoft announced the Band last year, one of the first questions for many of our readers was "When will this be available outside North America?" For those of you who live in the UK, the answer is April 15th.

Microsoft has said today that starting in mid April, the Band will go on-sale at Amazon, Curry’s PC World, Dixons Travel, Harrods, and O2 with an estimated retail price of £169.99.

This international expansion is a good sign for the Band as customer adoption is clearly warm enough that the company feels confident about moving into new markets with the device. This also suggests that Microsoft has finally solved the supply-chain issues that left the device out of stock for several months.

If you want a Band, Microsoft is opening up pre-orders today at the Microsoft Store and seeing how quickly the Band sold out in the States, if you want one of these devices, it's likely best to get in the digital line early.

If you are on the fence about device, make sure to read our review here to gain a better understanding of the Band's strengths and weaknesses.
