Microsoft launches 'Extreme Windows Blog'

Is your RSS aggregator looking a little dull? Do you think a sprinkling of ‘extreme’ might make it more exciting? Then this new blog may be for you. According to the Windows Team Blog (which includes blogs for a variety of Windows related products), the new ‘Extreme Windows Blog’ will cater to the advanced user, power user, and PC enthusiast. However, after reading the description it quickly becomes apparent that the blog is actually targeted at those users in limbo between average and advanced users.

Although the first post is simply an introduction to the blog, the blog looks interesting and promises to explore advanced features of software like Windows Media Center, show off new ‘really cool’ hardware, give instruction on PC upgrades, along with ‘geeked out’ tips and tricks. The blog will also allow for community and MVP contribution. So, if you’re not a PC expert and have lots of questions (which means you’re probably an active thread-starter on Neowin’s fantastic community forums), you should definitely keep an eye on this blog in the future.

EXTREEEEEEEEEMMME WINDOWS. Is this like using your netbook while jumping out of plane with a parachute made of chainsaws?

EXTREEEEEEEEMMMMMEEEEE...not such usual things you do every day...

no actually extreme is when you remote hack a windows machine form a mac and you help yourself with a android (or any other linux based) phone...

Hmm.. I think Microsoft shouldn't change the complete Dynamic of Windows 7, rather should just add to it and improve with newer features like MAC OS does. Thats how those guys at apple stay away from bugs. Good example was windows vista... they shouldn't repeat that with Windows 8

BTW.. i know this is the wrong article to have this comment under, but thought id just put it out there. since you said windows XT hehe

It's wonderful to find some experienced person that really has their finger on the pulse of software development and product marketing! Let's take this off-topic comment straight to Steve Ballmer! Hell, maybe we should even *sell* this nugget of wisdom to Microsoft! Thank you so much for your expert opinion!

My point being, even to be sacarstic, it should make sense. either way.. stupid comment!.. made no sense. I was bashing on windows. or supporting mac.

by your not so educated wisdom sure did sound like bashing. First OSX have more bugs than the island of bugs. So right there you are already claiming false information.

Extreme rules for windows OK..no virus no hack no trojan or whatsoever, then it's really getting EXTREME!!!

Or maby now there will be EXTREME virusses, etc. Nah, but in all seriousness, there's no way to help virusses etc. other than by constricting every file and every folder from any acess whatshowever.
The reason other OS's have less virusses is because Windows is so much more awesome to develop on with the .NET framework, etc.

Aw, I was hoping for something along the likes of " Can only post while driving in your car via phone and going above 60mph" or something extreme.

The word Extreme makes it different to everything else out there... hmm

Wonder if they will ever give advanced features to file management in Explorer though. Media Centre is cool but there are better 3rd party apps. Explorer is such a big part of Windows that i would love to not have to use 3rd party apps for managing my large amount of files built up over the years.
