Microsoft launches Internet Explorer 9 holiday giveaway

I use Firefox, but hell sign me up!

Microsoft, perhaps not entirely happy with the rate of migration to Internet Explorer 9, has offered an incentive to go grab the latest version of its browser by giving away stuff to new adopters of the browser. But only if you live in the United States, that is. Oh, and quantities are limited, so don't say we didn't warn you.

For those lucky US residents the site wishes a "Happy Holidays from Internet Explorer 9. To show you our love this season, we got you a whole lotta free music, movies and other awesome stuff. Unwrap and enjoy your holiday gifts!".

The Beautyoftheweb site freebies include three free months of Slacker Premium Radio, three free months of AOL radio, one free month to Grooveshark plus, one free month to Hulu Plus, One free movie in your Flixster movie locker, one free $5 movie ticket from Fandango, $5 off Live Nation tickets from Ticketmaster, one free month of Vimeo, and one free month of Pandora.

Some of these freebies do not take effect until certain times. For example, the Ticketmaster freebie will be available on the 1st of December.

There's no word on when this offer ends, but we reckon sometime around Christmas.

Thanks to WinBeta for the tip.

Microsoft doesn't expect freeloaders to use IE9. Their intention is to get and lurer people to become familiar with the browser. So all you freeloaders using other browsers to just use IE9 for these deals should feel guilty. It's like taking candy from a child or downloading music for free because you can. These personalities belong in the Ghetto.

How are you going to call someone a freeloader for a free giveaway? And how can you compare an organization lime Microsoft to a child? They know what they are doing and they've calculated the numbers, including freeloaders. This has nothing to do with the ghetto or acting immorally. All the advertisers teaming up with MS for this know that they will turn people toward their service. 1 month of pandora - maybe someone will buy a year, same for other services. I'll conclude with by telling you to get a clue and follow by letting you know that if you fail to get a clue I will be forced to assume that making silly comments is standard for you.

I never understood that myself. Why are they charging me a fee for something that makes them have to do less work?

But only if you live in the United States, that is.

Go figure...I wonder if they will do a European equivalent at some point?

I'd just like to chime in with a moan on this one as well, hate all the US-only competitions.
