Microsoft overhauls its homepage with larger images, modern elements

Over the weekend, Microsoft pushed out a new update to its homepage that now uses much larger imagery and a grid style layout. The layout, which is fully responsive, makes it easier to find the content you are looking for with a dedicated in-page navigation bar that has a modern design to it.

Underneath the navigation bar, that is below a large hero image, are tiles that highlight different products and features offered by Microsoft. These tiles are grouped by their target audiences of 'Home' and 'Work'.

At the current time, Microsoft is focusing on women who are impacting the world of technology; a sensitive topic as the tech sector is traditionally male dominated. On the current layout, the hero image focuses on girls who are interested in science and the footer image is dedicated to 11 female leaders who are changing the innovation ecosystem.

We will be curious to see if this page being redesigned is the start of Microsoft reshaping many of its digital properties or if this is a one-off update. You can check out the new look by hitting the link below.
