Microsoft releases new Windows Phone tools for Nokia developers

Microsoft has released a new piece of Nokia/Windows Phone developer news today in the form of new tools that will help developers learn Windows Phone faster than ever before.

A post by JC Cimetiere on the official Windows Phone Developer Blog announced the release of a host of tools and educational materials, which have been created with Nokia’s Symbian Qt developers in mind.

Microsoft hopes that the set of tools and documents will help Nokia developers to quickly “ramp up” Windows Phone app development. The package includes:

The “Windows Phone Guide for Symbian Qt Application Developers” white paper consists of over 100 pages of information ranging from design guidelines to how to get the most out of the API Mapping Tool.

For those of you who want to find out more about how both Nokia and Microsoft are trying to bring developer communities together can check out the new “Nokia Windows Phone Training” roadshows that began today in Paris, France. The roadshow will help developers find out how to get their ides up and running on Windows Phone and show how easy it is to get content up in the Marketplace. Additional dates and locations for the roadshow can be seen below:

Gotta keep the devs happy and help them move off of Qt and into SL/XNA.

Uh, yes it will. Any Windows app can be in the app store, and as far as XNA goes, it's a subset of .NET so it doesn't need special mention during keynotes
