Microsoft rolls out a Facebook-friendly update to Xbox app on Windows 10

Last week, Microsoft rolled out its greatly-anticipated New Xbox One Experience, enabling millions of owners to upgrade their consoles to the latest system software, powered by Windows 10. Today, Microsoft's Larry Hryb - better known to gamers as Major Nelson - announced an update for the Xbox app available on Windows 10 PCs... and it includes some pretty tasty new features.

The most significant addition is one that Microsoft says was "inspired by a top requested fan feature": a new Facebook friend finder available in both the Xbox app, and on Xbox.com, which will make it "easier than ever to find more people to play games and have fun with".

You can now record voiceover in your Game DVR clips on your PC as well, including hotkey controls to make it easy to switch your mic on or off during gameplay.

Excitingly, you can now record any game on your Windows 10 PC running the November Update (known also as 'Version 1511, build 10586.3') or later. This includes being able to capture video clips and screenshots in "PC games where Game bar and Game DVR hotkeys didn't work earlier."

And finally, there have been improvements to the Xbox Store section in the app, which Microsoft says will now bring you directly into the Store, allowing you "to see more content... at a glance".
