Microsoft shows off iPhone Messenger features

As Neowin previously revealed, the Windows Live Messenger app for the iPhone, today Microsoft revealed their social API, known as Messenger Connect at The Next Web conference.

Microsoft demonstrated some of the features, similar to what the Messenger Preview demonstrated, social networking integration.  Users can update their Facebook status and receive feeds right onto their Messenger app.  The iPhone application will also allow users to update their Facebook status, upload images and browse your friends profiles.

The Messenger client will offer all the standard features, instant messaging, photo sharing, accept and send friend invitations, emoticons and much more.  Users can also browse their connected social networks, allowing users to comment, like, browse and share information with their friends and family.

Users will also be able to connect through other social networks, including Flickr, and grab images right from SkyDrive.  Users will be able to use the iPhone gestures to pinch-to-zoom images.  The iPhone application also has another interesting feature, photo editing.  Users will be able to take images with their iPhone and select from a gallery of tweaked images what looks best.
