Microsoft Store offering free white wireless charging stand with Nokia Lumia Icon

The Microsoft Store is currently running a limited time promotion that will include a free white wireless charging stand (DT-910) with the purchase of a Nokia Lumia Icon. The Lumia Icon is Nokia's latest flagship device built exclusively for Verizon Wireless. The Lumia Icon features:

  • 5" PureMotion HD+ 1080P AMOLED display

  • 2GB RAM with 32GB of storage

The wireless charging stand is a wireless charger with NFC. The charger has a stand that can prop the device upright and gives users easy access to the screen while the unit is charging. The wireless charger also has NFC built-in that will give users the ability to launch specific applications by tapping the base of the charger. These actions can be programmed by navigating to the Nokia accessories settings. Since this charger works on the Qi wireless charging standard it is compatible with many other Nokia Lumia devices and other Qi enabled handsets.

The Nokia Lumia Icon is contract free and is available in black and white and retails for $599.00. The wireless charging stand retails for $69.00.

They need to try and offer something extra because flagship Windows Phones are just not selling in any great volumes. The only Windows Phones that are selling are the budget first cheap low end models.

Nokia 930 would be announced soon and it should be the same specification as this unit

It certainly would not work because it uses a different radio technology as is used by networks in the UK.

Technically GSM and WCDMA (HSPA) a.k.a. 3G should work, since Icon does support UK 2G and 3G frequencies, and of course it should be carrier unlocked.
