Microsoft Store taking $199 pre-orders for Nov. 15 launch of Nokia Lumia 1520

The big 6-inch Nokia Lumia 1520 was officially announced a couple of weeks ago at the Nokia World event, but the company left out two important bits of information at that time about the smartphone; when it would be released in the U.S. and how much it would cost. Nokia still hasn't offered up that info but a page on the Microsoft Store site now has revealed both bullet points.

The page is now taking pre-orders for the 1520, showing that it will be released on November 15th in the U.S. for the price of $199 with a new two year contract under AT&T. If the phone is bought without a contract, the price goes up to $549.

Just a reminder: here are some of the specs behind the Lumia 1520:

  • 6 inch full HD 1080p LCD display
  • PureView 20 megapixel rear camera
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor set at 2.2GHz
  • 2GB of RAM, 16GB of on-board storage with microSD slot
  • Colors: Yellow, white, black, glossy red

There's still no official word on when the 10.1 inch Lumia 2520 tablet, also announced at Nokia World, would be released but it is also scheduled to be a timed AT&T exclusive before also going on sale via Verizon Wireless.

Do Apple and/or Samsung release their flagship phones as carrier exclusives?

These idiotic, moronic, ignorant, stupid AT&T exclusive releases are NOT the most direct path to larger market share.

Finally! I too will finally be able to upgrade from my (abandoned) 900 - but, of interesting note (at least for me) the page linked above seems to not be available Maybe later today...

I have been on the fence about this phone since the rumors started to solidify. But now that AT&T has nerfed it by removing the built-in wireless charging and cutting the storage in half I'm probably going to skip this one. Sad, because I don't really see another option other than the 1020 -- which I'll probably get when my contract is out.

For now, I'm stuck with the 900, the abandoned phone, as almost all of the desired new apps release exclusively for WP8.

I have not decided if I want to grab the 929 on Verizon or wait to see if the 1020 equivalent comes out. The camera is not huge for me, I'd rather have the higher res and newer CPU, but no decision yet.

Glad they stuck with the 925 design language. The thinness will help. I have more of a problem with the width more so than the thickness.

Give us that 2520 release date already. need to know which RT tablet to get. BTW: AT&T releases it without Wireless Charging and with half the memory.
