Microsoft unveils first Kinect TV commercials

With Kinect's November launch looming, a brand new set of TV ads have been released to advertise the webcam-style peripheral. As reported by VideoGaming247, Microsoft has kicked the device's marketing drive into top gear, in an effort to convince gamers to try the controller-free experience.

A total of three Wii-inspired commericals were unveiled to promote the different launch titles: Kinect Sport, Kinect Joy Ride and Kinectimals. The peripheral's motto "you are the controller," can been viewed throughout.

The advertisements come after a fierce marketing campaign for the soon-to-be-released PlayStation Move motion controller. Among a number of Sony advertising methods was the anti-Kinect website YayButtons.com. The website promotes the use of buttons with statements such as "Could you imagine gaming without buttons?" In defense of Kinect, Microsoft's Kudo Tsunoda confirmed future games could use the Xbox 360 controller in conjunction with Kinect.

Neowin previously reported of a Microsoft employee's prediction that Kinect sales will "blow away" the iPad. Kinect for the Xbox 360 is set to hit stores shelves on November 4 in North America and November 10 in Europe. The device carries a $149.99/£149.99 price tag.
