Microsoft unveils new Artist Series Mice and colors

Microsoft has added a new "Artist Series" to their mobile mice collection, as well as a few Nokia Lumia inspired colors. These 5 new exclusive designs are only available on the Wireless Mobile Mouse 3500, and are also limited.

The Artist Series (pictured above) are select works from artists that Microsoft have chosen specifically for the Wireless Mobile Mouse 3500, the series comes with BlueTrack technology, meaning it can be used on almost any surface, from wood to carpet.

Apart from looking hip whilst on the move, it's important to note that these are but a limited offering. While the Windows Experience Blog post doesn't mention any numbers of availability, they do point to the Microsoft Hardware page for more information on the artists involved, and other colors that would be made available.

In addition to the Artist Series, there are also two colors available that appear to be inspired from the Nokia Lumia offerings: Cyan Blue and Magenta Pink.

They keep putting these out but honestly, who buys such things?

If they were Explorer Mouse sized and came in bright green and\or Bright Orange I would probably buy one... I do like brightly coloured objects for the most part and I do love my Explorer Mouse.

Um, artists? Creative-minded people? The non-iSheep?

I'm an artist and I think they're grotesque hah. But then I use a Magic Mouse and it's hard to get more simplistic design wise than that. (Although I know there's some!). I like simplicity and non-intrusive design.

Look a bit "outdated". For me it's a bit too curved.

I remember mice were supposed to fit in your hand, not look "modern". I welcome our new curvy overlords.

Agreed. Give me matte gray/silver (like Intellimouse Explorer 3.0). Simple is better, just like Metro (Modern)
