Microsoft's Kaizala service was first launched as a Microsoft Garage project for India's mobile workforce. Kaizala - which means "what happened" in Marathi - has evolved into a chat app for firstline workers, and the Pro version is rolling out to Office 365 commercial users.
Alongside standard one-on-one chats and group chats, Kaizala does more. There are hierarchical chats, and "hub and spoke" models, which allow for greater control over who you're sharing information with. The service allows the user to scale between talking to just one person or broadcasting a message to a group size of up to a million.
The app also has integrations with Office 365, including services like Power BI and Flow. There's also a management portal for reports. You can also use integrations with other existing apps for digitizing things that would normally require paper. The data is stored in
Microsoft Kaizala is available for free for everyone from the App Store and the Google Play Store. The Pro version of the service is now free for all Office 365 commercial subscribers in 28 markets, or it costs $1.50 per user per month. It will be available for Office 365 commercial customers worldwide "over time".
