I only use Torrents and IRC they are the best and fastest!

The IRC is not a file sharing protocol. Additionally, a protocol can't be "fast".

P2P is always as "fast" as the other peers give you. Please learn the basics.

Looks promising.

I wonder what are the advantages of using this over, say, an older version of uTorrent (before it became bloated)?

ChromePass 1.22 (NirSoft software)

has a 12 / 41 detection ratio according to VirusTotal:

IMHO, VirusTotal is a bad joke.

you know the author ?
did ya consider maybe the author had in the past code used in his app
used in or with malware ? For all we know he has coded malware and copied
and pasted parts of his code into a new project or even other malware authors
coincidentally have used the same methods and api to go online for whatever.
TOR and BitTorrent are used a lot in malware.

on the other hand i have seen false positives but rarely (at VirusTotal)
although i don't use it often, i generally inspect malware myself rather
than relying on heuristics or signature methods.

Interesting looking app

If Virustotal reports at least 50% detection(half of the total # of scanners) then i would consider looking into it further or if a number of reputable scanners reports on something other than a generic detection. some of those scanners aren't reputable such as:CAT-QuickHeal, eSafe, nProtect, VBA32 and a few others(IMO). Relying on signature detection is unwise as even a slight 1 byte change messes up the signature and thus renders it useless and the cycle begins again.

Most likely, it is a false positive. According to TrendMicro Firefox 15.0.1 contains TROJ_GEN.F47V0908, and VideoLan contains TROJ_GEN.F47V0829.

a generic detection doesn't necessarily indicate that something is bad. i usually consider generic detections a false positive unless you do a behavior based analysis to see what it adds to the system. If it plants malware then you will see it. I use virustotal if i ain't sure of something(which is rare).

It's very likely a false positive seeing as how only a few heuristics detected it.

For P2P? Nope, Kademlia. Not interested in centralized protocols which require trackers or link lists, sorry.

BitTorrent Uses a DHT based on an implementation of the Kademlia algorithm, for trackerless torrents.

People still use torrents?!

jeez that gets old ..come up with something new

If i hear NewsGroups I'm gonna snap !
