Mobile porn to hit $3.5bn by 2010

Revenues from mobile 'adult services' are set to approach $3.5bn by 2010, according to a new report.

Juniper Research said that growth will be fuelled by increasing adoption of streamed video and video chat, and a sharp rise in the adoption of 3G services.

A significant proportion of new revenues are expected to come from the relatively underdeveloped North American markets, despite restrictions on on-portal content.

"While operators in the US and Canada are still very reluctant to introduce age-verification systems and offer adult content, it is a completely different story off-portal," said report author Dr Windsor Holden.

i think this sorta stuff on a phone is pointless personally.

cause after all a phone is a "phone"... it's made to make "calls".

just stick to desktops/laptops and torrents etc instead

what is the point? The people buying this crap are the 16-18 year olds showing off this crap on their phone because its "cool". Its the same as the stupid "backgrounds" and "sparkly this" crap. Whats the point? Get a high-end phone, a 2 gig memory card, and transfer some vids (FOR FREE). $3.5b :disappointed:

Something tells me it's not only this age group. Besides, why would anyone want this on their mobile!?

porn is making money...but i think alot of people are going to be in for a rude awakening....when they start hitting 'internet sales' with outragous taxes and other hits.
