More screenshots of Windows Mobile 6.5 leak

Folks back at xda forums have caught hold of more Windows Mobile 6.5 screenshots which look very real.

The screenshots do reveal that the Honeycomb start interface is still present. IE 6 browser has a slider which should zoom things in and out in the browser and looks like its more touch friendly.

And the presence of lock/unlock screen

Microsoft will be announcing 6.5 at the World Mobile Congress next month and several mobile services too including Skybox, a service for users to sync a phones information with the web.

Last but not the least, anybody have anything to say on the really scary bird chosen for the wallpaper?

I'm glad Windows Mobile is customizable. That look like crap.

They should hire HTC to design the interface. They've done a wonderful job so far.

Makes me glad I don't use WinMo. Quite scary. Well I don't like it and as such will not use it (which will not be a problem as I bought a new phone couple of months ago that is symbian OS).
Maybe these are actually fake shots? Who knows.

Im v.surprised people seem quite positive towards this interface. Im a big WinMo fan, but I really wish they'd skipped this 6.5 business and just gone for 7. Whilst ill hold judgement till I see it in action, - and whilst I do love to keep my software and firmware up to date - this interface just puts me off, ive seen themes for winmo2002 which were better than this.

Did... Did they say IE 6? Thank god for competition, but still... IE 6... Does it come with an ancient Ming vase included?

And what's up with the horrible aliasing going on there in especially the last image?

Its POCKET INTERNET EXPLORER. Seesh, they didn't update the number at the same time as the desktop version. Just like Mac Office vs. Windows Office.

If you'd google a bit you'd find that PIE4.0 (included with WM5) had alpha-png transparency BEFORE IE6 did.
You'd also find that PIE 6.0 has the AJAX/Javascript tools of IE8.

Skyfire!!!!!!

These screenshots look absolutely horrible. It looks more like a mockup rather than what might be a finished product. The honeykomb interface is awful so is pretty much every screenshot. I think the current WM interface looks leaps and bounds better than this. For some reason I can't believe these are real and if they are, I can't believe Microsoft will release such a crappy looking UI. But as others said, you can't judge just by a few screenshots....

What's up with the bottom screenshot...looks all chopped up.

And maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me, but the blue lock hexagon looks off centre, compared to the time at the bottom.

my god that looks like sh**

looks fake to me, no way micro$oft would release something so ugly.

me thinks that too

Have to see it in use and in motion before you can actually get an idea of how it is.

This it's clearly more for touch type devices.

@GP007 true enough but I have used current WinMo devices and they all left a sour taste in my mouth (and that was before I got my iPhone :S)
