Motorola's latest contest could indicate the Moto 360's impending debut at Google I/O

It was a couple of months ago that we got our first glimpse of the Moto 360. As part of the new Android Wear line of wearables, the Moto 360 has a distinctive shape that resembles a traditional timepiece. Since the display can be altered to accommodate a wide variety of styles and tastes, it will be able to reflect each users distinct personality.

Since last month, Motorola Mobility has been holding a contest for designers to create a new digital watch face for its upcoming Moto 360. The contest is down to its ten finalists and is leaving the decision up to you. The ten finalists have been chosen from a group of 1300 entries.

While the designs are elegant and well made, what we find more interesting is that the contest closes a day before Google I/O. This could be an indication that Motorola will be showing off the winning design and debuting the Moto 360 at Google I/O 2014.

Unfortunately, we will have to wait a week to find out, as Google I/O doesn't start until June 25, 2014. The event will take place over two days and will likely have many product related announcements like it has had in previous years.

The Motorola Mobility contest closes in the less than a week, so if you haven't had a chance to vote, head over to the Motorola Google+ page to cast your vote. The voting will conclude on the June 24th, 2014.
