Murdoch Won't Fight MS Over Yahoo

Rupert Murdoch said on Monday that News Corp. would not get into a fight with Microsoft over the acquisition of search engine Yahoo, confirming what most industry and Wall Street observers suspected. His statement came after a source familiar with the situation reported that Murdoch's company had been in talks with Yahoo over a transaction to combine News Corp's MySpace Internet social network and other Internet assets with Yahoo. "We're not going to get into a fight with Microsoft, which has a lot more money than us," Murdoch told investors at the annual Bear Stearns media conference.

i still think yahoo! is! gay!

and yes, grammatical errors are included, to try and pin down just how silly using exclamation marks in a brand name really is.

lol - just tjhat fact that i made you post in retaliation makes my original post all the more worthwhile.

love you guys, just made my day...

This will only make the Yahoo board look even more dumb. Not only did they refuse an attractive purchase offer, the other company they were 'courting' doesn't want them.

Yahoo! is! Gay!

Sooner its debranded and out of my life the better, don't really care who buys it or for how much, what matters to me is that my internet experience isn't ruined by crappy branding like Yahoo!

If microsoft own it, it'll be completely annihilated within six months and we'll never see it again

How do you know? Gaydar?

Nah, Yahoo turned him down...

@graigchq: Seriously, if all you can do is call something 'gay' as an insult what makes you think anyone wants to hear your opinion?

"Yahoo! is! Gay!"

Let's have a poll! Who stopped reading after this line because...

-The grammar is horrible.
-The idea of applying a sexual identity to a search engine is absurd, or
-This demonstrates a complete lack of maturity and ability to formulate and express ideas.

Hey look a smart person! I find it very strange that your name is C_Guy and my initials are C.G.

Probably because he's not looking to turn Yahoo into a dumping ground for his proprietary software, as a certain other company would like to do, because they are unable to compete on a level playing field.

I'm surprised if a purchase would be approved by the antitrust regulators... why does FOX think they couldn't make an offer? Then at least the shareholders wouldn't have to sue their own company, it's not exactly good for the stock...
