Music from Microsoft Surface TV ad get free download

On Monday, Microsoft launched the TV commercial campaign for its Surface tablet, with a video featuring lots of dancing and choreographed moves involving the Windows RT device. It also had a fairly catchy music track behind it all.

Now, Microsoft has released the music for the Surface TV ad for free. The announcement was made via the official Surface Facebook page and the actual download comes from the Soundcloud.com site. There's no word on which artists created the track for the commercial.

Microsoft has actually uploaded two tracks to the Surface Soundcloud.com site. The other free track is the one that was used in part for the mysterious Surface teaser video that Microsoft released on YouTube in June. The music download is actually the full version of the tune, SRFC in C Minor, by Keith Rivers Films.

That original teaser trailer for the Surface tablet has generated over 7 million views on YouTube since its debut in June. The new Surface TV commercial, which one report claims is the "most effective" ad of the year for a tablet, has generated over 1.5 million views in under a week on the Surface YouTube channel.

The amount of Surface news is really getting out of hand, now it's already worth a news post if a song that is featured in a commercial gets a free download. I mean, come on.

Bit like all the Apple news that gets plastered all over the front page of this site whenever they release a new product or there's a rumour, so give it a rest.

I personally think its awesome that he posted this. I really like both of the tunes Microsoft used in these commercials and am glad I can now find them... and for free!

I really like the way MS is going with the music for their ads, including the new IE9 one. They've all got dubstep / glitch influences and I like!

... & why is this news!

Because its interesting. MS has taken a new route with the music they're choosing in their commercials and a lot of people, including myself really like it. I understand that its not the most important thing in the world, but its not like Neowin is overrun with new content on a daily basis and this is a tech news site with a slight leaning towards Microsoft.

If you're not interested then don't read it. But I know from the comments that were left on the posts about the ads that a lot of people here like the music so it is definitely worth a post.
