Neowin Competition: Mock-up IE 9

Neowin recently posted up user created mock-ups of IE 9 and because of its popularity, we want to take it to the next step. Neowin is looking for your IE 9 mockup to be featured in an upcoming post and we are willing to give you some free software for your efforts.

Here is where it gets good. the first 50 people to enter (with serious entries) will get either a full copy of  WinX DVD Ripper Platinum for the PC or WinX DVD Ripper for Mac. We have 25 licenses of each software package, so if we receive more than 50 entries, we will do a random drawing for the winners. If we run out of keys for one package, we will do a random drawing for those wanting the OS specific key.

Here is how this competition will work: create a mockup of IE 9 of what you think it will look like and send it to me in an email at bdsams@neowin.net. Please send it in either JPEG or PNG format with your forum name in the filename. Your entry will then be compiled into a gallery and we will show off your work. Please be sure to indicate which software key you would like too.

The contest is open to anyone of any age or demographic but limited to one prize per entry. You can submit multiple entries but can only receive one software key (please combine all entries to a single email).

The competition will close August 22nd.

Do you really want to win that WinX DVD Ripper ?

For everyone who doesn't want to mock up IE to win a dvd ripper:

Free and the best there is.

If you don't enter for the prize, then enter for the fun. It's always good to see people's thoughts on one subject.

One Ultimate and a Home Premium version? You have more then 2000$ for the licenses of this ripping software, i think Windows 7 is cheaper

I'm sure the ripping software is cheaper, and neowin likely get's the software given to them by the company so the company get's more people. Lot's of companys do it to advertise.
It works like that with software, not with a whole OS.

Get rid of the freaking "search" bar. Take an example Google Chrome. If you want to Bing something, just type in IE Address bar.

I think a better idea is to have the search bar removable by the user but still enabled by default.

I honestly don't think it is going to look all that much different than IE8. If you look at IE of the past, version 7 and 8 are virtually identical. Version 4 and 5 were as well. I am not counting 6 or 6 SP1 because they were the same browser anyways.

But it could use a new look and maybe MSFT will also take a peak at you alls ideas and use them. Make sure you get paid too. :-)

What I personally would like to se return is the flag get changed back to the 'E' with the spinning effect it use to have.

you should try IE8 sometime.
IE7 and IE8 are not alike, neither on looks or performance -.-
but that way, IE8 looks like IE6 as well if you turn off DWM
