New Intel 533 Xeons have extra pin

Can you say scam?

"BOXED XEON PROCESSORS using a 533MHz system bus are now available in the streets of Akihabara, Tokyo, according to Akiba PC Hotline. The new products were announced last week, but according to a report on Akiba, there's a pin change from 603 to 604 pins.

And quantities of the processor are still very limited, with the Web site saying it's hard for the shops to get sufficient quantities of the new Xeons, as yet. The pin change – as the site points out – means that Xeons with 603 pins can slot into new 604 pin sockets. But the reverse is obviously not true, however regrettable that may seem. Two pins into one hole just won't go... Akiba has some nice pictures of the new Xeon 2.40GHz, and some good pictures of the cooler and heat sinks these babies need."
