Newly leaked iPhone 5S photos show a new grey color

Apple apparently is going to give iPhone 5S buys a bit more variety than first predicted when it comes to their phone's color. Leaked photos of the still unannounced iOS 7 smartphone have shown white, black and gold colored cases, and now a new Internet leak shows that the iPhone 5S might also come in a gray-graphite look.

The new photos come from the website of the known Apple product info leaker Sonny Dickson, who previously posted images of the alleged plastic case for the upcoming iPhone 5C. As you can see above, the gray look to this iPhone 5S version still has some black trim at both ends; Dickson claims that this version will be made available alongside the white, black and gold iPhone 5S products.

Since Apple has yet to confirm it will even release an iPhone 5S, it's possible that this gray color might not be released to the public. While officially Apple is being as secretive as always, online reports claim that the company will announce their next iPhone on September 10th at one of their typical press events, followed by an actual product launch later that month.

I'm not going to buy it if it has the same screen resolution + size. Its almost as though they are saying "deal with it". This arrogance is starting to annoy my very much. I cannot understand what Apple's RnD team have been doing for the past 4 years. I mean honestly, not one fresh design?

Apple really needed to update the OS and the UI which had not changed much during the last few years, but what would be the point of changing the design of the device itself? If it's not broke, don't fix it.

About the screen resolution, I wonder if there's any real benefits of having a higher PPI for such a small screen that you're holding 12 inches away from your eyes, particularly when considering the trade-offs (shorter battery life). The change from standard resolution to "Retina" was significant, and I guess pushing beyond the Retina resolution for things like laptops and TVs make sense, because of the bigger screens, but for 4" phones?

There's no reason to increase the screen resolution, it doesn't gain you anything past a certain threshold (Which Apple consider to be the "Retina" density)

And personally I'm glad they're not making them huge like the Android phones seem to be, shouldn't need 2 hands to use a phone.

Well it does so...oh well.

Well it does so...oh well.

Not "oh well".... More like "oh f**k off". I'd rather buy a samsung with android that offers much more for much less.

You were not going to buy an iPhone anyway, so why post at all? You're free to like Android and buy whatever you want, but there's a lot of people who don't share your opinion about Android offering "more" than iOS.
I've tried myself many different Android phones from Sony, Samsung and a few others, and I wouldn't get one even if they offered it for free. Inconsistent UI, devices filled with buttons and knobs and ports, SD cards, dubious battery life, viruses, less quality apps and games than on iOS, etc... I get that most people buy Android because they're cheaper than the iPhone and that geeks get the more expensive models because they're... geeks and like to tinker with the settings, "customize" their devices.
Why would Apple need to change the screen size or the overall design of the iPhone? Just for the heck of it?

Well i sure am not getting gold or white. black is just bleh, but an option. Grey, ill have to see it in person, looks nice though

I think the removal of the FCC (etc.) logos at the bottom is more interesting. Does this allude to a removable back/battery?
Well it can't have an FCC stamp if it hasn't been approved by the FCC yet...right? I mean it hasn't even been announced. Once it is announced next month, I am sure the FCC approval will come immediately afterwards, once the device is actually summited.

It could just be a prototype, so there's a chance that all of these colors won't even make it to the market. Regardless, they probably want all the approvals done before stamping those logos and stuff on the back.

These leaks would not have happened with Steve Jobs running the company.

I seem to recall a few iPhone 4's in 3G cases getting lost at a bar...

Or it was leaked at the right time. Some of these leaks have to be on purpose, they can get info out and get the buzz started while saying 'we don't respond to rumors or unannounced products'.

These leaks would not have needed with Steve Jobs running the company. (Just corrected)

Implying Apple isn't directly involved in these "leaks"

They love the media attention.
