Nokia Lumia 625 rumored to have 4.7-inch screen, announcement coming next week

Nokia is holding two events over the next week or so, but it looks like one device, expected to be announced in London, will be the Lumia 625. According to a source who leaked information about the Lumia 625, the device will have a 4.7-inch screen and feature a resolution of 800x480.

The device will likely be announced alongside the rumored "catwalk" smartphone, but the Lumia 625, with its mid-tier specs, should come in at a more affordable price point. It's clear by the size of the screen that Nokia is targeting those who want a large-screened device but do not want to pay a premium price for the product, if the rumored information is accurate.

The smartphone reportedly has the codename of "Max," which is likely tied to its large screen. What is more interesting about the device is that it is expected to ship with GDR2, which will include new features such as FM radio support, lock screen clocks and the ability to wake your device by double-tapping the screen.

We don't have to wait long to see if this information holds true, and we will be attending the London event to bring you the all the details as Nokia announces them.

I don't know! I don't think Microsoft should go Androids route and flood the market with a whole bunch of phones. I believe a few phones hitting different audiences is better. Maybe 2 premium phones and 2 low end. But what do I know, I don't own a Windows phone. I just think they should market their phones as premium, best of the best, like Apple.

I think this is the one that will come to US T-Mobile. Since T-Mobile is going no contract now, so paying the full price of the phone is important.

No way. I don't believe this for one second! Nokia has a reputation for making all of their devices feel premium. A 4.7 inch screen with 800 x 480 resolution will not feel premium to the user. I really hope I'm right about this for Nokia's sake.

It could very well be real. Here in India several whitebox manufacturers and some Indian ones have been launching big screen low end phones for some time. Most if not all these devices have similar resolutions. Big name OEMs are starting to respond and Samsung recently launched one (can't remember name). This could be Nokia's response.

I think you are talking about the Samsung Galaxy Grand

Samsung galaxy grand Duos, Karbonn Titanium, Micromax canvas, all feel like cheap devices when you look at screen.

Specs are good, but when you take it in your hand or look at the screen, it feels cheap. Specs are good but they are still using old chipsets, which they never mention cause only these words matter to Consumers " Dual core, Quad core ".
