Nokia Lumia 929 reportedly coming to Verizon in November

Verizon may be about to land a much larger Lumia, the 929 that may be in the 5-inch class, according to a new report. The device is expected to arrive in early November and could cost $500 off contract.

The report comes from WPcentral, who has generally hit the mark with this kind of information, and they are saying that the phone could arrive as early as November 6th.

This larger device follows a series of leaks including the fact that Nokia is set to release several new phones soon, including a 6in phablet that could be coming to AT&T.

For Nokia, they have been releasing phones on a regular schedule and the Lumia 929 will be their follow-up to the Lumia 928 but the 929 will reportedly have a larger screen.

Over the past few months, Nokia has been releasing a slew of phones all with numerical names that could eventually be confusing to consumers. While this may not be a problem yet, it is something that Nokia and Microsoft should consider as the Lumia range is being expanded, provided the acquisition gets approved.

Samsung has proven with the Note series that consumers do want larger screened phones and the Lumia 929 could be one option for the company to fill this niche. With only a few weeks to go until the announcement, which could come on October 22nd, we won’t have to wait long to see if these rumors materialize.

So I say again. I would like the VZW version of the 1020. I know we'll have to wait until the 1020 has been out for six months.

Though I like the 928 a lot, I don't think I'd want to go much larger than that personally... I know others would disagree with me here lol, but I just feel that would be unmanageable to be honest...

With that said too, I love WP, but am hoping that it comes with an option to make the tiles 3 small squares wide, so that it can take up the space with 2 columns... I think 3 columns is a bit much and a little overwhelming to be honest.

Sweet! I will get it for me and the Wife day one since she is still rocking her trophy and has been patient for this upgrade and I'll come back to Verizon as they have the best network. I'll miss my faithful 920, but its been a year.

What about the rest of the World? The 929 is a device I would consider to replace my 920.... if unbranded.

I'm sure there will be variations beyond Verizon just like other Nokia devices... This is one area that I really like what Nokia is doing. You know you'll get something worthy of an upgrade in your region / carrier soon enough...

I hope so; I live in the US but I never bought carriers locked\ branded devices.
I am sure that the 6" will be released Worldwide but, for me, is too big, I would be more interested in a 7/8" device, with 8.1 Pro and a pen to be used as a Filofax agenda.

If this is true it finally gives Verizon something first, a 5" WP device while so far they've been behind AT&T. It's also interesting to see that AT&T got the 6" device instead and skipped on any 5"-5.5" type device.
