Nokia Lumia 929 shown off on video, again

The Nokia Lumia 929 has leaked in the form of photos and videos a number of times. Now, a hands-on video showing off the design and UI of the smartphone has been uploaded to YouTube.

It is clear from the video that the smartphone shares design resemblance to the Nokia Lumia 928 which was the flagship device released for Verizon Wireless. The Lumia 929 aka Lumia Icon was expected to be launched on Verizon Wireless on January 16th but there has not been any announcement yet.

The Windows Phone 8-powered Lumia 929 is rumored to feature a 5" screen with 1920x1080 resolution, a 20 megapixel PureView camera, 2.2GHz Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM and full set of connectivity options including 4G LTE.

Although the smartphone has not yet been announced, it has found its way into hands of some users and has also been reportedly sold in China.

Nice, but I'd rather wait for a WP 8.1 handset.

Other than already coming with WP8.1 from the start I don't expect much of a difference when it comes to the hardware specs. Unless the newer snapdragon 805 is out already to OEMs?

I doubt there will be a change from the snapdragon 800 so soon on WP handsets- for me I'd just rather wait for a phone that comes with 8.1 preloaded Plus there were some rumored new hardware features on Nokia 8.1 handsets, so I want to see how that goes before (impulsively) buying a new phone.

For the tech types, like us, it always makes sense to wait for the updated hardware.

Windows Phone could really change the design of the UI. For starters the rumors of it removing the physical buttons. It could be that they're changing to to be more similar to Windows 8. Perhaps they'll even add some of W8's gestures. Such as the swipe from the left to switch between apps. In which case phones need to be designed to work with this (as in no sharp corners). They probably won't take it that far but personally I wouldn't risk it and wait a few months longer.
