Norwegian game shop sells Halo 3 copies early

MaxConsoles Reports that a Norwegian gaming shop called Expert has sold at least 2 copies of one of the most anticipated games for the Xbox 360 this year, Halo 3.

Norwegian game shop sells Halo 3 copies early, breaks street date by nearly 2 weeks!

Choi Wang mailed us in to reveal that a Norwegian game shop called Expert today sold at least two copies of Halo 3 to the public, he added the following picture as proof. In the past, premature street date breaks have resulted in competitors following suit, if this occurs, we could all be purchasing Halo 3 a lot earlier than we thought.

there was already an Aussie copy sold on ebay.. tho no one can confirm if it was real or not... it was sold to someone in the US so yeah...

Sold for about 200 i think...

As far as i know all the distributors have them and some stores do... every store will have it this week tho... just depends how well they distribute their stock to whether the store gets it now or later... The store i work at is not due to get it until this Wednesday or thursday...

Would be nice if he showed a receipt. If we had that proof then any retailer would be selling it. With no receipt the copy is considered stolen.

Um, ok... I don't have receipts for 95% of the stuff in my house anymore. Does that make it all stolen?

Halo 3 copies were shipped out early. At the store I work at, we got a shipment in as early as last week. Though our manager plastered papers everywhere saying whoever breaks the tape on the shipment box before the release date will be fired on the spot.

Wow, if this isn't eBay fodder, I don't know what is.

And speaking of which, if this guy DOESN'T put this up for auction at eBay then he's an idiot.

Hope the guy who brought it don't get banned, its wrong for him to get penalised for this.

on the retailer front its their fault, prob just an employee selling early when he's not supposed to.

A person can go to jail for buying stolen merchandise even if you didn't know it was stolen, so why shouldn't a player be banned from live when they know fully that they aren't supposed have the game? MS would be well within their rights to ban their box from Live.

If they were playing it a day or two before release, sure that would be fine. But they obviously know something is wrong if they're doing it weeks ahead of release.

P.S. I ♥ the pic of the smirking overpriviliged kid on Maxconsole!

Not everybody who buy computergames know the releasedates for all games, if he finds it in a store and buys it its not his fault. Also out there in the world there are plenty of people playing halo3, ever heard of a preview/review copy? Thats how a magazine/newspaper can have a score for a game on release, i doubt this poses any problem for this guy. The store however might get in trouble.

"I didn't know those were the rules" doesn't work in any real court in the world, and it works even less so in the fuzzy realm of copyright license. MS won't ban them, of course; all I said is that they'd be well within their rights to do so.
