The Office XP Alternative User Input Update: January 24, 2002 updates the framework that is used to support advanced text services in Microsoft Office XP. Examples of advanced text services include speech, handwriting, and East Asian keyboard input services.

Issues Fixed by the Update: -

   - Office XP Input Method Editor stops working for East Asian Languages and you can type in English only.

How to determine whether the update is installed, The updated files are:

   - SPTIP.dll updated to version 5.1.2409.24.

   - MSCTF.dll updated to version 5.1.2409.22.

I have found another OfficeXP update thingy, but there seems to be a problem with the download, so when Microsoft fixes the link, I will post here.
