Minor update - 17 should go mainline before long.

I don't know what the deal is lately, but I've been seeing companies (and individuals) releasing half-assed programs. I think you should release only something that's feature complete, anything other than that ought to be pre-release (e.g. beta and friends) labeled.

Am I too old to think that way?

In my opinion, they should have taken their time to make the 12+ releases on par with what they had and only release them afterwards.

Agree. Had they labelled it "Alpha" nobody would complain about features missing. But when you mark alphas as releases, you get the bashing you deserve.

Used to be a good browser until it ruined the rendering of some of my favorite websites. This browser has turned into a pile of trash.

Guys, this was a necessary update. Opera 12.10 became too slow in some scenarios.

I'm still with Opera 12.16, and will keep it using until Opera comes out with a browser that can offer me the same experience.

They just need time.

We can all still enjoy Opera 12.16 until HTML 5 eats the whole Internet... That is until 2015+

Yep,
Definitely sticking with 12.16 myself until Opera gets their crap together with it's browser!

Almost don't really see that happening though being that they switched to the crappy Chrome engine! If I wanted that, I'd use Chrome, which I don't and won't!

The engine is what I like versus 12.x - as said above it really gets bogged down on some sites and plain mis-renders them on others. Having their own UI means Opera can use blink for the engine but still differentiate themselves with their UI (i.e. features that you loved from them previously). Sadly it's no mean feat making such a change but you can already see it starting to pay off in both the next and developer builds.

No. Nobody is using it anymore.

I am. And a few of my friends and colleagues. Choice is good, feel free to make your own but don't dictate mine
