Opera 9 Released

Opera, has now finalized it's Opera 9 Web Browser and has officially released it for everyone for free of use. After weeks of releasing weekly public beta builds, many new features have been introduced in this version along with a lot of improvements with the Opera rendering Engine itself; It now supports the latest web standards.

Some of the new features in this version are the support for BitTorrent and Widgets. Widgets, like those available for OSX's Dashboard, are small applications that run with the browser to give extra functionality, like language translators, calculators and other fun applications like games. However, these extra features can be disabled if all you want is a web browser. An advanced configuration interface is also a highlight in this version. Opera 9 still maintains to be the fastest browser on earth, and claims it's even faster this version.

The browser was released in conjunction with the Opera Conference held in Seattle, which was attended by several important figures from W3C, Microsoft, BitTorrent (Bram Cohen) and more.

The Browser is available in 25 languages for Windows, Mac, Linux and several other platforms.
