Origin PC launches Windows 8 touch enabled notebook

Today is finally the day that people can now walk into a store and buy a PC with Windows 8 pre-installed. One of the folks joining the touch screen bandwagon is Origin PC, best known for their high end gaming PCs.

The company sent out word that starting today, Origin PC now offers their EON17-SLX notebook with a track pad that had been enabled for Windows 8. It is also selling touch screen monitors as an option for its desktop PCs and Logitech's touchpad for its Chronos desktop.

Kevin Wasielewski, Origin PC's co-founder and CEO, states in its press release:

What I love about Windows 8 is its insanely fast boot up and its intuitive new start menu that allows instant access to everything you need, including all of your favorite PC games and apps. All Origin PC systems can now be fully equipped with Microsoft's latest operating system and we are extremely excited to be one of the first to start shipping systems with Windows 8 to our customers.

If you really want a Windows 7 PC, Origin says that it will " ... continue to offer and ship orders with Windows 7 post launch to provide a robust custom experience for all customers."
