Original Killer Instinct 2 might be coming to Xbox One

With the release and success of Killer Instinct for the Xbox One, it was only a matter of time before we would see one of the original Killer Instinct titles from the 90’s emerge on a next generation console.

According to a post found on the Korean Game Rating and Administrative Committee website, Killer Instinct Classic 2 could be making its debut for the Xbox One in the near future. For those unfamiliar, Killer Instinct 2 was a sequel to the original that was released in the early 90's. Killer Instinct 2 was developed by Rare and manufactured by Midway. The game was released on the Nintendo 64 as Killer Instinct Gold.

Killer Instinct 2 shared much of the same mechanics as its predecessor, but also included several new features that were necessary to compete with other fighting titles released during that time. The game introduced four new characters, while also adding throws, a super bar, and parrying.

While it is important to take such listings with a grain of salt, if this listing is indicative of a future release, it will be interesting to see what kind of improvements might be seen in a title that is nearly two decades old.

I know you're just doing do diligence for those not in the know but that reads funny. What game series has started with a 2 in the name? It's implied it's the sequel. lol

Anyway I think this will be the free game with season two which is coming up. We got the original if you bought the Ultra edition of KI so hopefully they gift us with this once season two comes out. If MS was really nice in a year after those of us who paid full price to get the game get to enjoy the classics they'll release both KI and 2 as standalone games.

The arcade versions were 100% pure and better, not sure how you can even think that the Console ports were better...

They just don't make them like they used too...

back when, after playing games of stick-ball, I had to walk to the Arcade (TV? Small, black and white thing with nobs? at HOME? are you KIDDING me? We couldn't afford shoes, much less TV's back then... which is why I had to walk to the Arcade in bare feet, through the snow, snakes and bears... but I digress) to play. I could FINALLY play AFTER putting the quarter to mark my spot THEN waiting patiently for 30 minutes to get my ass kicked in 30 seconds by some other kid who had been playing the whole thirty minutes on a single quarter.

THOSE were the days. When you actually appreciated the game because it was worth the wait.

Now, kids can play Nintendo4 in the back of moms suv... while being carted to the soccer game where they get an award for being unable to score points because they participated while waddling around unable to score a goal because they are so uncoordinated due to being fat lazy american kids...

Dam kids... always messing up my lawn. GET OFF MY GRASS DAMN WHIPPERSNAPPERS!!!

*Cough* Purity in gaming? /snicker

Isn't the original arcade one bundled with the new one on XBox One when you buy it?

I personally have a arcade system setup with almost every console out there so I play it on that using the TankStick controllers.
