PS3 Release Date, 23rd March

Advertising agency TBWA has indicated that Sony will likely release the PS3 in Europe on March 23rd. The company, who deal with advertising for large global brands such as the Playstation, Apple and Adidas said that advertising for the PS3 would start towards the end of March, backing up suggestions from other senior retail sources.

Speaking to GI.biz, a spokesperson for advertising agency TBWA said the marketing campaign for the console "launches towards the end of March" - which would suggest that an early March date is unlikely. Therefore if Sony are to believed about their March launch date the 23rd would make a suitable candidate.

A source speaking to gamesindustry.biz said that Sony would make the official announcement within the next fortnight.

Hope no one gets hurt over this console in the UK. Guys if you don't get it on the release date just wait a month. Here in Austin Texas there a four games shops near my house that have at least 10 units PS3 that can't get rid of. When the ebay sales dropped people took there PS3 back to the store.
