Rolando 2 and 3 rolling onto iPhones this year

At the Game Developers Conference this morning in San Francisco, Neil Young founder of ngmoco announced that Rolando 2 and 3 will be heading our way this year.

Created by Simon Oliver, Rolando became a hit game on the iPhone last year and currently holds 4 our of 5 stars on the US iPhone app store. It's no surprise to have a sequel announced, let alone 2, after the response the first garnered after release.

"In eleven months, we will have released 12 worlds, 149 levels, 40+ hours of game play for less than the cost of a single DS or PSP game," said ngcomo founder Neil Young, supporting his argument that the iPhone is already a better portable device for games than Sony's PsP or Nintendo's DS.

The Second game will be attached with the title "The Quest for the Golden Orchid" and is to arrive in June, the 3rd has yet to be given a name but has been said to be arriving in November of this year. To aid the announcement of the sequels, a new pack of levels have also be revealed to be arriving for the first game in a set of 20, which will then be followed by a new set of levels for the 2nd title before the release of the 3rd.
