Rumor: AT&T to launch Nokia Lumia 920 on October 21st?

Is the Nokia Lumia 920 going to be released much earlier than previously speculated? That's the claim of a new rumor that says that the Windows Phone 8-based device will launch via AT&T on October 21st.

The report, via unnamed sources, was first posted on Boy Genius Report. So far, Nokia has yet to officially announce a launch date for either the Nokia 920 or its other upcoming Windows Phone 8-based device, the Lumia 820. Another previously posted rumor claimed that AT&T will launch the Lumia 920 on November 2nd.

When we got a chance to see an early version of the Nokia Lumia 920 at the company's recent press event, we were allowed to hold the device but not actually use the Windows Phone 8 operating system installed on the smartphone. That has led to a lot of speculation that Microsoft is still working hard to complete Windows Phone 8 in order for it to be ready for a fall 2012 launch time frame.

BGR also claims today that October 21st will be the day that AT&T launches the Samsung Galaxy Note II, the Android 4.1-based smartphone with the massive 5.5-inch Super AMOLED HD touch screen that was officially announced earlier this month.
