Rumor: MacBook's Day This Coming Tuesday

Following up our report earlier this week concerning the MacBook's May availability, sources have nailed down next Tuesday, May 9, as the introduction day for the Intel-based laptop. Meanwhile, shipments of Apple's new 17-inch MacBook Pro, the initial units of which were to arrive in customer hands this week, have been temporarily delayed.

After encountering a minor quality control issue with production of the laptops recently that has since been remedied, sources report Apple executives decided to postpone initial shipments and retail store availability by several days to ensure adequate launch inventory.
