Rumour: iPad 2 announcement on February 1

A rumour has been floating around the Internet about the possibility to the iPad 2 announcement in the coming weeks. The announcement could be on February 1 to introduce the all new tablet.

Kevin Rose, who is usually very accurate with these predictions and rumours, suggests that the iPad 2 announcement will introduce a higher dpi to the tablet, but not Retina display. Other features that have leaked and been rumoured tell us that the iPad 2 will have a front facing camera, higher rear facing camera, be slimmer and lightweight, improved battery life, 3-axis gyroscope, and a USB port. The iPad 2 will most definitely support FaceTime, so you'll be able to video chat to anyone with a Mac, iPhone 4, iPod touch 4 or an iPad 2.

Apple likes to keep to their announcement and release schedule with their iDevices, as we've seen the iPhone launch every June or July, the iPod touch every September and now we could see the new iPad coming in April, or even sooner.

Stay tuned for an press release announcement. Hopefully we'll see what the iPad 2 brings to the market and possibly an updated firmware with some new features.
