Saints Row: The Third - Enter the Dominatrix revealed

Saints Row: The Third was one of the bright spots in THQ's release library in 2011. The open world action game from developer Volition sold better than expected and also got solid reviews. On April 1st, THQ announced Saints Row: The Third - Enter the Dominatrix as an April Fool's joke but now it looks like the "joke" is becoming a real game.

Today, THQ announced that Saints Row: The Third - Enter the Dominatrix will indeed be released as a stand alone $29.99 expansion in late 2012 for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 platforms. The storyline features an alien warlord named Zinyak who wants to invade Earth. However, for some odd reason, he thinks that the Third Street Saints gang, which are now a global force, might be able to stop him.

So Zinyak is going to do what any other alien warlord who wants to invade Earth would do in such a situation. He kidnaps the leader of the Saints and puts him in a simulated world that looks a lot like the fictional city of Steelport, except that's it's really... the Dominatrix. Cue a person saying, "Whoa."

More details about Saints Row: The Third - Enter the Dominatrix will be revealed later this summer. If it's as goofy as it sounds, we can't wait.
