Samsung Galaxy S II and 10.1-inch Galaxy Tab II details leak

It appears that some internal Samsung documents have leaked out, and Engadget has the scoop. Samsung already has plans for the Samsung Galaxy S II, the Galaxy Tab II, a 4-inch 3D display handset and LTE-based cloud gaming.

First off, the Samsung Galaxy S II will pack a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display at 800 x 480 resolution. The device will also pack a 1Ghz dual-core ARM processor, NFC, Bluetooth 3.0 and probably the best part, a 24Mbps HSPA+ chipset for lightning fast surfing speeds. According to the documents, the Galaxy S II will measure in with a depth of just 8.49mm, smaller than the iPhone 4.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab II will feature Androids new 3.0 Honeycomb operating system, which is designed for tablet use. The Tab II appears to also be running the same processor as the Galaxy S II, a 1Ghz dual-core ARM processor. The next version of the Tab will have a slightly larger resolution of 1280 x 800, and is rumoured to come in three flavours of 16GB, 32GB and 64GB.

There was also some interesting information about the future of Samsung and its devices. Samsung is apparently working on a 4-inch WVGA display handset with 3D capabilities. The handset is said to feature a "Motion UI", which allows the user to navigate through applications like Google Maps and Street View just by tilting the device.

Lastly, Samsung is said to have big plans for LTE in its future products. The company might be working on a 4G HDTV using dual-display technology, with the possibility of cloud-based gaming. Although the details are still scarce, the above details give us a good roadmap of what to look out for in 2011 from Samsung.

They have not even upgraded my Galaxy S with 2.2 as is, i would not buy another from them.

+100. I doubt I will ever buy another Samsung/Android phone ever again, since they can't seem to get the damn things upgraded. I am trading my Fascinate for a WP7 as soon as they hit Verizon.

Why should i have to root and rom my phone just to get an update?

Yay! Now your battery will drain twice as fast. Really? Are we going to have to charge twice a day now? Android should adopt proper hardware accelerated graphics instead of relying on inefficient dual core technology.

Get your facts straight, dual core processors are more energy efficient than single core, by moving to them you will get better battery life, not less, at lest that will be the FUD till an iPhone with a dual core and then it will have "magically" "better" battery life.

Glad to see they are gonna make the Galaxy Tab 2 bigger! my biggest grip with the first one was it was too small. This combined with Android 3, looks like the iPad is gonna start seeing some decent competition this year

One of the best and worst things about android is that there are awesome new phones all the time but you can't have the best one for more than a few weeks

It's the same in the PC world, the world of cars and pretty much every industry, it's the price to pay for competition between companies

Hmm.. I originally thought it would be annoying to have the buttons switched up but I like that it search appears to be removed and the home button an actual button.

Don't get your hopes up, I'm betting that just like for the Galaxy S, Samsung will allow all the US carriers to "differentiate" the handsets from each other, and will be unlike the international GS which looks exactly like the leak phone

The more i see tablets, the less i want one and more i realize i just want a laptop like the kind that modify into a tablet. IE, i want something that can be a tablet at times but is a real computer with a real OS and doesn't need to be jailbroken or "an app for that" to be useful to me

These definitely aren't for you then. These devices are more along the lines of ebook readers with more features. They (or at least the iPad) is not really for productivity.

Reminds me of the days when the Pentium 3 was out, every 3 months your processor was outdated. Nothing last more than 6 months now.
