Samsung said to be developing a Galaxy S6 with a "dual-edge" display

Note Edge

Last year, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Note Edge. Although it was met with modest excitment, Samsung acknowledged that it would be a niche device and should be treated as a "limited edition concept". Well, it looks like Samsung is back at it again and could be developing a similar device for the upcoming Galaxy S6.

According to the folks over at SamMobile, Samsung is developing a variant of the Galaxy S6 that will have a screen with a dual-edge display. Essentially, this would borrow the edge display seen on the Note Edge and position one on each side of the device. By using a dual-edge display, it would allow use of of the edge screen regardless of which hand the device is situated in. Another possible use of the edges would be for notification illumination.

Although this could materialize at MWC, the real question is whether we are ready to embrace something like this in 2015? While most likely not, the Galaxy S6 with dual-edge display will likely become another niche product from Samsung.
