Samsung teases Windows 8 notebook in new video

Samsung made the first Windows 8-based device nearly a year ago for attendees of Microsoft's BUILD 2011 conference, running on the Developer Preview version of the software. Now Samsung seems to be close to revealing its first consumer Windows 8 product.

In a YouTube video posted earlier this week, Samsung teased the launch of a new notebook, offering glimpses of a rather sleek and thin looking device. Samsung says the video shows off a preview of the company's " ... newest Windows-8-ready innovation." Most of the video features lots of animations centering on Leonardo Da Vinci-themed gears and clocks, along with black cubes rolling and combining with each other.

The video doesn't seem to offer any clues as to what this new "innovation" in the product might be all about, nor is there any indication of a specific date for Samsung's full announcement.

Samsung isn't alone in teasing the public with a Windows 8 reveal. Earlier this week, Lenovo used its Twitter page to give the public another glimpse of its Windows 8-based IdeaPad Yoga notebook-tablet hybrid product. With teasers this week from both Samsung and Lenovo, it appears we are on the edge of getting a ton of Windows 8-based hardware announcements.
