Screenshot ability coming to Windows Phone 7 via Homebrew

This one should have been in there ages ago and will be coming in future releases of Windows Phone 7, but hasn't been officially announced yet -- the ability to take screenshots on your phone. It's now finally coming to the platform, thanks to Julian Schapman, developer of the "Windows Phone Device Manager."

WPCentral reports that the developer is planning on releasing the product "soon" and is still undergoing testing with private testers. If you want to get in on the action, you'll have to donate to Julian to get a copy, or wait like the rest of us. Either way, the software brings full screenshot ability to the table, although it's not clear how yet. The trick may use some sort of multitasking to keep the application running in the background to take photos, or, it may take them via the computer connected to it, though it's not clear yet.

Smartphone France have used the application, and even provided screenshots which prove it's legitimacy. Julian is not new to the Windows Phone (or Windows Mobile) development scene, he's well known for the vaporware that was "TouchXperience" for Windows Mobile, which was an entire UI for the platform. The UI was shown off multiple times across the web, and some builds even leaked out, but the product never materialized.
