The guys over at Opera Software have released the next beta version of Opera 6.04 (Build 1126 to be exact). Go grab it from here. What's
new:

  • Crash fix in mailer: null pointer checks added + memory leaks plugged.
  • For our Korean webmail users:
support for missing QP-encoding in From-header.
made mime decoder use system charset if everything else fails.
  • Added loadable application icon support:

    Application Icon=%someicon%
  • Suggested filename: reverted previous fix + added charset autodetection.
  • Fix for bug #77933. (Flash eats all CPU, http://www.sina.com.cn)
  • Fix for bug #49743. (freeze of display when playing WMP files in a new window, black areas when typing another URL, black areas when plugins disabled, WMP not recognized from file type extension)

It'd be better if you guys posted build #1125 'cause build #1126 actually fixes just one more bug than #1125, but has a crashing problem. Link for #1125: http://people.opera.com/windows/snapshot/o604_1125.exe (The changelog you guys see is actually for #1125, not #1126) If you guys want to use build #1126, replace the styleswml.css file with a previous one (This was said by Sue Sims, the Opera employee that announces builds and etc in the Opera newsgroups)

My experience is the same: in fact i even cannot run the #1126 build by itself but if you insist you can install both 1125 and 1126 separately, and then copy opera.exe in the folder for #1126 to the folder for #1125, overwriting the old "1125" opera.exe. In this way I can run successfully #1126.

And i have just tried the "styleswml.css " method too. It worked beautifully. thanx

Well I just installed it and it wouldnt start without causing an illegal operation and I just deleted the wml.css file and it works so I don't think you would have to replace the file, just delete it.

Did you try replacing perior to starting up? In any case, deleting it will fix your problem, but will cause you other problems if you'll need to interact with WML...(It's a CSS file for WML...)

Another suggestion: #1126 might work fine if you... 1 Go to the folder in which you have installed this version of Opera. 2 Open the sub-folder Style 3 Open the file wml.css 4 You will find this @-rule line at the very beginning of the file: @namespace wml url(http://www.wapforum.org/2001/wml); 5 Comment out it! /* @namespace wml url(http://www.wapforum.org/2001/wml); */ ( or you may want to just delete this @-rule line) Maybe the wml.css included in the build 1126 too will work, if you edit it slightly as above-mentioned. No guarantee but try it

I think this is the best Opera yet (with replaced Stylesheet). Every site I normally hit in a day renders properly, and it hasn't blown up on me for any reason at all yet. Not bad!

I wonder if eBay search pages show up properly in this version, instead of having the results squished over to the side.

I'm not sure exactly what you're talking about(as I never visited eBay before), so I did a small search in that site. http://nant.songmeanings.net/Images/blah.jpg -- Is a screen shot of the result. Seems okay to me... Correct?

That's the problem I had; it's not supposed to look like that. The results over on the right should fill most of the screen, instead of being squeezed over. That blank white area in the left frame should not be there. It's probably eBay's fault, but that is the only site I visit so far that is messed up with Opera. In both Mozilla and IE (of course) all the pages look fine.

Tried it today, seems about the same to me. No crashes yet though...

Well, that's something. Your best chance with eBay is probably with Opera 7.0, 'cause in the 6.x series there aren't any rendering changes(IF the problem is on Opera's side).
