Thanks WishX for this. Kerio Personal Firewall represents smart, easy-to-use personal security technology that fully protects personal computers against hackers. It is built on ICSA-certified security technology. It is free for home and personal use.

Changes in Current Version:
  • Enhanced packet filter - define unlimited number of protocols, services, address groups, time intervals, etc. Firewall can be configured by simply permitting or denying communication to applications - suitable for beginners and less experienced users who do not want to use the advanced packet filter
  • Intrusion Detection System - built on the IDS engine used in WinRoute 5.0
  • System Security - applications on the desktop protected against being rewritten, modified or misused by other applications, etc.
  • New status reports in the Advanced Admin - traffic chart, MS Networking status, etc.
  • Many enhancements in performance and load on the memory, especially in the kernel part of the engine
  • Completely re-vamped graphical user interface, simpler for less experienced users

Prosecutors said Gordon placed more than 30,000 shares of Internet Security Services Group--a company bought by Cisco--into a Bahamas-based shell company that he created called Cisco Systems, which has no connection with San Jose's Cisco.

The government also charged Gordon with fraudulently inducing Cisco to put $15 million into Spanlink, a Cisco-affiliated start-up company, in a deal allegedly engineered to provide him with a personal profit of up to $10 million.

Gordon, who was fired by Cisco in April 2001 after an internal investigation mounted by the network gear maker revealed the problems, also illegally traded stock using inside information, prosecutors said.

Your right, at it's core it uses Tinys code but its different somehow! I used Tiny Personal Firewall and couldn't get get my shared printer to work over the network... but for some reason Kerio worked!?! I love the new interface... that screenshot is useless! I tried it out just to see how it runs... I'll be waiting for it to come out of beta... I like my security out of beta form I think Kerio must have goten a GPL or something from Tiny?!

I think Kerio bought the Tiny PF 2.0 code and continued developing it. Tiny on the other hand is also working on a 3.0 version of the firewall, which in my opinion isn't nearly as good as the 2.x was.

Kerio is a break away from Tiny. Tiny pissed off the creators of the Tiny Personal Firewall 2 so they left Tiny and took the code with them

why did they break away? Because Tiny Personal Firewall 3 is not free maybe?
