AOL 8.0, Build 4129.530e released

"Greetings Beta Testers

We are delighted to announce a new build of the AOL 8.0 Beta software is available for download from AOL Keyword: Beta 8! To begin testing 4129.530e, go to this keyword and click Download. Please read the Known and Fixed Bugs to see the full list of known issues with this build.

Self-Expressions:
The wait is over - Self-Expressions are available! Self-Expressions are new features of the AOL 8.0 software that allow you to personalise AOL 8.0:
· Buddy Icons - Your Buddy Icon is now available from any copy of AOL 8.0
· Instant Message Sounds - you can now choose a personalized sound from a list. Your Buddies will hear this sound when you send your Buddy an Instant Message. Also people on your Buddy List will hear your sound when you log on or log off
· Host-based Smileys - There are now more emoticons to choose from for your Instant Message needs
· Instant Message Wallpaper - You can now select a Wallpaper for your Instant Messages which will be seen by other members using AOL 8.0

You can access Self-Expressions in three ways:
1. Click on the Setup button on an Instant Message form
2. Click on the Setup button on the Buddy List. Click AOL Expressions
3. Click Settings in the toolbar. Click AOL Expressions

Important: Self-Expressions are not complete at this time. Rather than wait until the full choice of Expressions were available, we decided to release a selection to you now. At present, the choice of options for each Self-Expression is limited but we will be adding more choices daily. Please test out these new Expressions as they become available and have fun!

Please Note: Desktop Themes are not available for this release of the AOL 8.0 Beta software. This feature is still in development and we hope to introduce them at a later stage of the Beta test. If you click on Desktop Themes from the AOL Expressions form it will go to the AOL 8.0 Beta area.

[/neoquote] This one is for UK testers though. Those of use fortunate to live in the United States have been beta testing it for a while now, and it has even gone GM in the fall. If you look, they are behind the US on the features list. We have had Desktop Themes for a while now.

What are you talking about its Still Being tested in the US. Its called the GM Refresh. Version 4129.490 is the latest GM Refresh Build.

I have been testing each new build of the GM Refresh. I did specify that the US version has gone GM already.

For US Users Version 490 is still the latest, then that'll be patched by a Test TOD on sign off to version 4104.

Well reading through that I have never realised how much crap they put into their software. AOL sucks plain and simple.
