So why are we doing this and what data are we trying to gather? We want to ensure that it is always possible to terminate and restart an application that is unresponsive (a.k.a. hung). Windows XP improved on previous versions, but there are still some types of hangs that we dont fully understand. With this reporting update, when you attempt to terminate an application that wont close (using the End Program dialog), additional kernel data structures and timestamps are collected and sent along with the standard data when you submit error reports to Microsoft. We will then analyze these reports and use the results to help both Windows and application or driver writers to improve their code.

Our goal is to have a broad group of testers willing to actively participate and provide useful feedback to our development team. Please carefully consider your willingness and ability to test this extended reporting update. Your feedback will be critical to the success of our investigations. Regular and consistent participation, in the form of always providing us with your Windows error reports, is expected throughout the program. If you know of specific ways to hang an application (for example, trying to burn a CD or DVD), wed like you to cause this to happen and provide us the error reports.

I don't understand... I have .NET SDK installed for about a year Or what was this thing that lets me develop .NET apps? I would have expected .NET 1.1 now

Pehaps, getting al ink to 1.1 would be more valuble since this has been out for ever so long already.

I believe they merely updated the contents of the SDK.. I'm not too sure, but the old SDK used to come with .Net Framework original. Perhaps they changed the packaged SDK to include the recent Service Packs for the .Net Framework?

lol - 260mb = 130mb (one file) + 10x 13mb (splitt) ... the sdk is still 130megs big (as far as I can see
